MENTORING
Eddie Friends
Edmund Rice Camps WA (Inc) introduced a mentoring programme in April 2011, called Eddie Friends. The programme is based on small group mentoring and is aimed at kids who would benefit from further support and role-modelling.
Eddie Friends sees five kids and five volunteers get together to participate in activities throughout the year. The volunteers and kids decide what activities they want to do, all in the name of fun and friendship!
The programme aims to:
- Support existing ERCKWA participants through the development of group mentoring relationships based on friendship, fun and role-modelling. These on-going relationships aim to support children's growth in self-worth, confidence and trust.
- Develop volunteers both personally and professionally through greater programme ownership and continued reflection.
Eddie Friends is part of a long term plan to introduce One-to-One Mentoring in 2012. For more information, please contact Carly Mercadante at the ERCKWA office. < BACK
